Tomato Gravy also known as bisto in the Xhosa culture, is an easy and quick meal that can be served at anytime of the day.
It can be served with wors and pap, bread or eggs and bacon.
INGREDIENTS
30 ml (2 Tbsp) olive oil
1 onion, peeled and grated
6 tomatoes, chopped
5 ml (1 tsp) Braai Salt with Garlic
2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) Peri-Peri
15 ml (1 Tbsp) sugar
30 ml (2 Tbsp) soy sauce
15 ml (1 Tbsp) tomato sauce
Marina Lighthouse Sea Salt
Marina Lighthousr Black Pepper
PREPARATION
Heat olive oil in a pot and fry the onion until soft.
Add the chopped tomatoes, braai salt with garlic, Peri-Peri, sugar, soy sauce and tomato sauce..
Cook the sauce over a medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to ensure that it does not stick.
Season to taste with Marina Lighthouse Sea Salt and Black Pepper.
