Do you have an oil stain on your clothes? Act quickly! The sooner you can treat the oil stain, the better your chances of successful removal. Try out this salt hack using the Marina lighthouse salt to successfully remove an oil stain.
Supplies you'll need:
Method:
Start by blotting the excess oil from the stained area using a paper towel or clean cloth. Do not rub the stain, as it may spread the oil further.
Cover the entire oil stain with a generous amount of Marina lighthouse salt and baking soda. The salt will act as an absorbent and help draw out the oil from the fabric. Allow the salt to sit on the stain for about 15-20 minutes. This will give it enough time to absorb the oil.
Gently shake off the salt from the garment. Be careful not to spread the salt to other areas.
Apply a small amount of dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent directly to the stained area. Gently rub the detergent into the fabric using your fingers or an old toohbrush. Make sure the detergent covers the entire stain.
Leave the detergent on the stain for an additional 5-10 minutes. This will help the detergent break down the oil further. Rinse the garment thoroughly with cold water to remove the detergent and any remaining oil.
Then, wash the garment as you normally would, following the care instructions on the label.
After laundering, check if the stain has been completely removed. If the stain persists, repeat the process.
Remember, it's essential to check the garment's care instructions before attempting any stain removal method to ensure it is suitable for the fabric type.
Happy cleaning!
